From 1952 until 1992, Associate Professor Ken McKay taught in the Classics Department. 2011 saw his passing. After Associate Professor Ken McKay retired, friends and coworkers contributed to an appeal honoring his service at the University. In 2013, Mrs. Gloria McKay, his widow, gave an additional $5,000. A single prize is given to the top student in Beginners Ancient Greek each year.
