James Quirk Memorial Prize in Sports Economics at University College Cork 2026

Introduction:

The James Quirk Memorial Prize in Sports Economics is an annual award established in memory of Professor James Patrick Quirk, a pioneer in the field of sports economics. 

Eligibility criteria for the James Quirk Memorial Prize in Sports Economics at University College Cork:

• The applicants must be current University College Cork students.
• The applicants must be registered for the module EC3219 – The Economics of Sport.
• Must achieve the best academic performance in the module and minimum 80% in-person attendance at lectures for the module.
• The scholarship is open to all nationalities.

Application Process:

• No separate application is required; the students are considered automatically.

Value of the Scholarship:

• A USD 1,000 is awarded to support a full-time student.
