Eligibility for the Confucius Institute Chinese Award:

Be enrolled at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
Be enrolled in one of the following programmes:
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) or BA conjoint degree majoring/specialising in Chinese, or
- Bachelor of Global Studies (BGlobalSt) or BGlobalSt conjoint degree with Chinese as the selected language.
Have completed CHINESE 200 (Intermediate Modern Chinese 1) and CHINESE 201 (Intermediate Modern Chinese 2) in the preceding year.
Be enrolled in CHINESE 300 (Advanced Modern Chinese 1) and/or CHINESE 301 (Advanced Modern Chinese 2).
Have achieved the highest GPA across CHINESE 200 and CHINESE 201 among eligible candidates.
Maintain enrolment in CHINESE 300 and/or CHINESE 301 to receive payment of the Award.

Value of Confucius Institute Chinese Award:

Two Awards will be made annually for a period of one year and will comprise a tuition fee credit for CHINESE 300 Advanced Modern Chinese 1 and/or CHINESE 301 Advanced Modern Chinese 2.

Application process:

Nomination is made to the Scholarships Office.
