Black or Indigenous Heritage Student-Athlete (BIHS) Bursary

The Black or Indigenous Heritage Student-Athlete (BIHS) Bursary is an undergraduate in-course bursary offered through Brock University. Established in 2021, the bursary provides financial support of up to $2,000 to eligible student-athletes who self-identify as either Black or Indigenous and demonstrate financial need.

Eligibility criteria for the Black or Indigenous Heritage Student-Athlete (BIHS) Bursary at Brock University:

• The applicant must be an undergraduate student-athlete at Brock University.
• The applicant must appear on the eligibility certificate of an Ontario University Athletics (OUA) sport.
• The applicant must self-identify as either Black or Indigenous.
• The applicant must demonstrate financial need.
• Returning student-athletes must have achieved a minimum 65% average during the prior academic year.
• New entering student-athletes require a minimum 80% admission average or have achieved 65% minimum average during the winter or spring term of their initial year.
