University Type and Campus :
East European Studies, University of Warsaw (UW SEW) (formerly College of Eastern Europe and Central Asia) - was established in 1990 at the Institute of Oriental Studies at Warsaw University. The basis for the organization of study was established under the leadership of Professor Tadeusz Majda Seminar Problems of Nationalities of the Soviet Union and Central Europe. The initiators of the creation of the seminar besides Majdy were Andrzej Ananicz and Jan Malicki . Study lead research and teaching related to the countries of the former communist bloc.
The roots lie in the study of the underground magazine " Camp " was founded in 1981 and attempts to create underground Institute of Eastern Europe at the end of 1983.
