The Singapore University of Social Sciences, previously known as SIM University (Abbreviation: UniSIM), is an autonomous university in Singapore. It was established in 2005 as a private university. Initially, it only admitted part-time students but began to offer university places in 2014. Originally part of the SIM Group, it is now under the ambit of the Ministry of Education.
As of 2014, the patron of the university is Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of Singapore. The Chancellor of the university is Dr. Aline Wong. The Founding President of the university is Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, former deputy president of NTU. The Provost of the university is Professor Tsui Kai Chong. In October 2013, it was announced that SUSS has been selected to house Singapore's third law school.
