Overview
Eligibility for Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowships:
Applicants Must:
- Have completed a baccalaureate degree by the time the fellowship commences.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in international peace and security issues.
- Possess excellent academic accomplishments and preferably have relevant experience (e.g., graduate study, coursework, independent reading) in the field.
- Be adept at writing and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
- Be considering a career working on international peace and security issues, particularly in public-interest organizations, the Federal Government, academia, or media.
Preference is Given to Applicants Who:
- Are United States citizens (though non-U.S. citizens residing in the U.S. may also be considered).
- Have limited prior public-interest or government experience in Washington, DC.
- Have previous experience in public-interest activism or advocacy related to peace and security issues.
Application Process:
Applicants must submit a complete application package with all the required documents (CV, personal essay, policy essay, transcripts, reference letters) via the online application form.
Value of the scholarship:
Successful applicants will get $4,283/month as a salary, partial health insurance, travel expenses to Washington, DC, and $1,200 for professional development opportunities, such as attending conferences or courses.
