The main purpose of the Winifred Stiles Viola Prize is to assist viola students to further their performance studies at the University of Auckland.
Eligibility for Winifred Stiles Viola Prize:
The Prize will be awarded annually to the full-time viola student enrolled in a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music conjoint degree, Bachelor of Music (Honours), Graduate Diploma in Music or Postgraduate Diploma in Music who achieved the highest mark in MUS 121, 221, 321, 620A&B or 721.
Value of Winifred Stiles Viola Prize:
The annual value of the Winifred Stiles Viola Prize will be NZD 1,200.
How to apply?
The Winifred Stiles Viola Prize will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Music. The University of Auckland Council is not obliged to make an award if in any year there are no candidates of sufficient merit. In the event of a tie, the Head of the School of Music will determine if the Prize may be shared.
