Overview:

To provide financial support to Aboriginal andor Torres Strait Islander students who are undertaking a UTS undergraduate Science degree.

To be eligible for the Scholarship, a candidate must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Students should be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and provide either:
  • A Confirmation of Aboriginality from a Local Aboriginal Land Council or other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander organization; or
  • A UTS Statutory Declaration form accompanied by two written references from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people from the applicant’s community who can confirm their identity and are not an immediate family member; and
  • Students must be enrolled or intending to enroll  in an undergraduate course (including eligible double degrees)[1]or a graduate certificate at the UTS in the Faculty of Science directly following the Scholarship selection; and
  • Students must complete an online Scholarship application form to be considered
  • Applicants will be required to attend an interview.

Selection Process:

  • Passion and/or interest for study in science
  • Demonstrated life experience that contributes to the motivation to study science
  • Communicates a vision of where science may lead them after graduation

Value of the award: Up to $15,000 per annum
