Students who have already begun their PhD studies are eligible for studentships, but they must have at least 50% of the funded period of an AHRC award (often 18 months of full-time study) left when they begin their scholarship. While the studentship will only cover fees at the home rate plus the stipend, overseas students are welcome to apply for studentships but will be required to pay the difference between the home and international fee rates themselves. The international fee rate is £15,450, and the home fee rate for 24/25 is £5,800. As a result, overseas students will be responsible for paying the £9,650 difference between these fee amounts.
