Overview
The scholarship is available for postgraduate research in Family Law at the University of Edinburgh Law School for a period of either one year leading to the degree of LLM by research or for a period of three years leading to the degree of Ph.D. The scholarship is offered by the University of Edinburgh Development Trust in conjunction with SKO Family Law Specialists. A single scholarship is available for study beginning in September 2021.
Eligibility for SKO Family Law Scholarship, 2021:
- Applicants hold an Honours or Masters Degree in law (or equivalent).
- Applicants who have already been offered and accepted a place for LLM by Research or PhD study by the University of Edinburgh.
Value of SKO Family Law Scholarship, 2021:
Successful applicants of SKO Family Law Scholarship, 2021 will receive the following benefits-
- The scholarship is an annual stipend of £2,000 per annum.
- The scholarship is awarded for one year in the first instance, and in the case of a PhD scholarship, will be renewed annually for a further two years, subject to satisfactory progress. Where a student is admitted to the LLM by research programme and successfully converts to the PhD programme (in accordance with the University requirements), the scholarship will be awarded for a further two years, subject to satisfactory progress.
