Shelagh Stanley Award at Camosun College 2026

Introduction: 

The Shelagh Stanley Award recognizes the best writer or writers who have completed the Digital Production, Writing, and Design program. Donated by The Estate of Margaret McDougall, the award honors the legacy of Shelagh Stanley and encourages aspiring writers who demonstrate exceptional writing ability, academic excellence, initiative, and collaboration.

Eligibility requirements for the Shelagh Stanley Award at Camosun College:

• Applicants must have completed the Digital Production, Writing, and Design program.
• Applicants must demonstrate: ability to produce news and/or promotional writing suitable for publication and strong interpersonal skills and personal initiative.

The value of the scholarship varies.

Selection is by departmental nomination. Writing ability of eligible graduates is taken into account for nomination
