Eligibility Criteria for the Regents Scholar Program:

  • The application is open to Washington residents.
  • The scholarship is awarded to students pursuing Undergraduate course at the Washington State University.
  • The University considers the following criteria for the Distinguished Regents Scholar Award:
    • Exceptional academic achievement.
    • Community, civic, and co-curricular involvement.
    • Academic Reference which includes the student’s achievements and future potential, as mentioned by the nominator.
  • Students with a 3.6 minimum high school GPA must enroll full-time at the WSU Pullman campus.

Application Process:

  • High schools in Washington are invited to nominate two of their top students for this scholarship program.
  • To be considered for the award, all nominees must apply for the scholarship.
  • Deadlines
    • October 1: Nominations open.
    • October 31: Counselor nomination deadline.
    • December 1: Student application deadline.

Value of the Scholarship:

  • Regents Scholars: All qualified nominees who complete the admission and scholarship application process by the deadline will receive an award amount of $4,000 per year for four years.
  • Distinguished Regents Scholar: Full tuition and mandatory fees for up to 18 credits per semester, for four years. 

The Regents Scholar awards are subject to yearly renewal requirements:

  • Continuous enrollment (fall and spring semester each academic year) on the Pullman campus.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average per academic year.
  • Completion of at least 24 graded credits each year.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate (non-professional) program of study.
