The AbbVie Ireland – ATU STEM Excellence Scholarship supports students from underrepresented or less advantaged backgrounds pursuing selected STEM programmes at the Sligo Campus of Atlantic Technological University (ATU).

Eligibility Criteria for the AbbVie Ireland – ATU STEM Excellence Scholarship at Atlantic Technological University 2026:

  • Applicants must have applied through CAO for an eligible programme or be progressing to Year 2 from Science/Engineering Common Entry.
  • Applicants must be residents of the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.
  • Applicants must have completed the Leaving Certificate/PLC within the last two years or meet mature student criteria.
  • Applicants must be actively involved in their community.
  • Applicants must receive a SUSI grant.
  • Applicants must be available for a minimum 6-month placement.
