The Environmental Microbial Genomics (EMG) group at the Department of Plant and Environmental Science (PLEN), Section for Microbial Ecology and Biotechnology at the University of Copenhagen is offering a four-year postdoc position within the field of comparative genomics of the phyllosphere microbiome starting June 1st, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Project Description:

The position is advertised in connection to a newly established multidisciplinary program, The MATRIX: “Microbiome Assisted Triticum Resilience In X-dimensions”, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Overall, the program addresses the taxonomic diversity and functional potential of the wheat phyllosphere microbiome.

Eligibility criteria for the Postdoc in Comparative Genomics of the Phyllosphere Microbiome, 2021:

  • Open to all international students.
  • Applicants must have a PhD or similar qualifications within computational biology, microbiology, genomic analysis, comparative genomics, network analysis, or other relevant research fields.
  • Applicants is expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary academic environment conduction research and teaching at the highest international level. 
  • Experience in programming in bash/Unix, R or python is strongly desirable.
  • Experience within the field of plant-associated microbiomes is preferred, but not a requirement.
