Nanjing Government Scholarship 2024

Nanjing Municipal Government established the Nanjing Government Scholarship for International Students in 2013 to attract and encourage outstanding international students to study and do research at Nanjing universities.

Eligibility :

• Candidates must be non-Chinese citizens
• Candidates must follow Chinese government regulations and decrees and meet NUIST admission requirements.
• Undergraduate applicants must have a senior high school diploma and be under the age of 28.
• Master's degree applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35.
• CGPA 3.0 or above (out of 4 for graduate program applicants)
• an average score of 70 or above (out of 100) for undergraduate program applicants
• Candidates must not be recipients of other scholarships granted by the Chinese government, local governments, or other organizations at the same time.
• Applicants who apply for English-medium programs are given special consideration.

Application time:

• March 1 to June 30 every year. 

How to Apply:

• Applicants must access the NUIST Online Application System for International Students 
• create an applicant account
• provide personal information and upload all required application papers.
• Please select the "Chinese Local Government Scholarship" program.

Scholarship confirmation:

• NUIST will evaluate submitted applications and admit qualified candidates.
• NUIST will notify scholarship recipients when it is time to pay the application fee.
• In July, NUIST will deliver admission documents to scholarship recipients.
• Scholarship winners cannot change their subject or length of study without forfeiting the grant. Tuition must be paid during registration, and scholarships will be awarded during the academic year. 
• Scholarship winners must attend the annual review after each academic year by NUIST's Measures on Annual Review of Government Scholarships. Students who pass the annual evaluation can keep the scholarship. The scholarship will be revoked if the annual review is not cleared.

Value of the scholarship:

• Undergraduate students: CNY 10,000 per academic year provided by the Nanjing Government, and CNY 5,000 provided by the University.
• Master student: CNY 20,000 each academic year is provided by the Nanjing Government, and the university waives the cost of living.
