The Pro-Invest Group RISE Hospitality & Tourism Scholarship provides financial assistance to students at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) who are pursuing eligible hospitality and tourism programmes and facing barriers to tertiary study.
Eligibility Criteria for the Pro-Invest Group RISE Hospitality and Tourism Scholarship at Auckland University of Technology 2027:
- Applicant must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
- Applicant must be 18–20 years old when receiving the scholarship.
- Applicant must have an offer of place and be enrolled full-time in an eligible hospitality-related programme at AUT commencing in Semester 1 of the year following the application closing date.
- Applicant must demonstrate a personal interest in the hospitality industry.
- Applicant must face a barrier to entering tertiary study.
- Applicant must be enrolled in one of the following programmes:
- Bachelor of International Hospitality Management
- Bachelor of Arts in Global Tourism
- Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts
- Bachelor of International Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Business Conjoint Programmes
- Graduate Certificate in International Hospitality Management
- Graduate Diploma in International Hospitality Management
Application Process for the Pro-Invest Group RISE Hospitality and Tourism Scholarship at Auckland University of Technology 2027:
- Applications open annually on 1 September through the AUT Scholarships Database.
- Applicant must submit a personal statement of up to 500 words explaining their motivation, future goals, interest in a career in hotels, and relevant cultural, diversity, or financial barriers.
- Applicant must submit a CV of no more than two pages.
- Applicant must provide transcripts for tertiary study completed outside AUT.
- Applicant must nominate one character referee through the application portal.
Selection Process:
- The University Scholarships Office confirms applicant eligibility.
- Pro-Invest forms a selection panel to select the recipient from eligible applicants.
- The selection panel's decision is final.
- The scholarship may not be awarded if no applicant is considered to have sufficient merit.
Value of the Scholarship:
- Up to NZD 5,000 towards tuition fees.
- One scholarship is awarded.
Notes:
- The scholarship covers one year of full-time study (120 points).
- The scholarship cannot normally be deferred, except in cases of compelling medical reasons or adverse personal circumstances beyond the student's control.
- The recipient must not already hold a bachelor's degree or higher qualification, unless it is a prerequisite for the undergraduate programme.
- The scholarship cannot be held with another Government-funded scholarship, a non-government-funded fees-related scholarship, or another scholarship valued at NZD 5,000 or more.
