Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarships, 2019

Miles Morland Foundation is offering Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarships, 2019 to support African writers who require time to produce the first draft of their book and simultaneously earn a living.

Eligibility for Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarships, 2019:

• An excerpt from a piece of work of 2,000 – 5,000 words written in English that have been published and offered for sale should be submitted by the applicants of Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarships, 2019.
• The assessment will be done entirely based on literary merit.
• Proposals or submissions that support academic /scientific research/works of special interest like religious/political writings will not be accepted.
• Candidates applying for Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarships, 2019 must write during the year of the scholarship.
• Candidates should submit by email a minimum of 10,000 new words every month until their scholarship term ends or they have finished their book.
• Recipients will continue receiving funds even if they complete the first draft of their book by a year.

Documents required:

• Submission of a Word document of work with 2,000 to 5,000 words that have been published and offered for sale.
• A description of the new book they intend to write in 400 - 1,000 words.
• A scan of evidence that the applicant and his/her parents were born in Africa.
• A brief bio in 200 - 300 words.
• Description of how they got to know about the Morland Writing Scholarships.

Value of Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarships, 2019:

• The successful applicants of Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarships, 2019 will receive an award of GBP 18,000.
