Macgeorge Fellowships: Eligibility
- To be eligible for the Macgeorge Fellowships, nominees must be nominated by an appropriate school or department at the University of Melbourne and receive an honorary appointment as a Visitor to the University if their nomination is successful.
- Fellows must also commit to delivering a public lecture or performance and a departmental seminar or postgraduate workshop during their fellowship.
Benefits/Value
- The Macgeorge Fellowships offer a one-off payment of up to $15,000 to the host school or department.
- Fellows will have the opportunity to stay at Macgeorge House for 4-6 weeks, with access to the house and its extensive riverfront gardens for their research, writing, or artistic work.
- Fellows not accommodated at MacGeorge House may receive alternative accommodation.
Application Process
- Applications for the MacGeorge Fellowships must be submitted through the relevant school or department at the University of Melbourne.
- Individual applications are not accepted.
- Schools must complete the necessary application form and submit it to Dr. Elizabeth Nelson at lnelson@unimelb.edu.au.
- Applications for July 2027 - June 2028 are due by 7 September 2026, 5:00 pm
