Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research (MFMER) is offering Mayo Clinic International Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowships (Minnesota) to international candidates who completed a general surgery residency in a program that is non-accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Eligibility Critieria for the Fellowship:
- Applicants must identify as international candidates.
- Applicants must have completed a general surgery residency program.
- Applicants (outside US and Canada medical schools) must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
Application Process:
All eligible candidate must first inquire about the availability of the program with the Education Program Coordinator (rstcrseducation@mayo.edu). If available, the application should include the following components:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Photograph of the applicant
- Personal statement
- A valid ECFMG certificate
- Copy of medical school diploma
- Official medical school transcripts
- Medical school performance evaluation (MSPE) — "Dean's letter"
- Letter of recommendation from the program director
- Official test transcripts for all applicable examinations ( FMGEMS, ABSITE, LMCC, USMLE, COMLEX, NBOME, FLEX or NBME)
- At least two other letters of recommendation from others
