Overview:
The scholarship aims to improve the quality of leadership and management skills in the Australian not-for-profit sector. By investing in the leadership and management capacities in this sector, it is hoped that the scholarship will also contribute to the promotion of community well-being; to overcoming disadvantage; and to developing the values and skills that strengthen Australian democracy.
Eligibility for Mark Lyons Not-for-Profit and Social Enterprise Management Scholarship UTS:
- An Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
- For the duration of the Scholarship: full-time or part-time enrolment in one of the following eligible courses:
- Master of Social Impact and Not-for-Profit Management; or
- Master of Social Impact and Not-for-Profit Management (Extension); or
- A UTS Business School Research degree focusing on not-for-profit sector related research; and
- For Coursework students only:
- Must have completed minimum of 12 credit points of study in the Master of Social Impact and Not-for-Profit Management; and
- Have achieved a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of 75%; and
- Must disclose any other scholarships, awards, or organisational affiliations beyond UTS; and
- All candidates must be available to attend an interview in person.
Selection process:
- Motivation and commitment to pursue study/research in the area of Social Impact and Not-for-Profit Management,
- Demonstrated initiative in personal and professional life,
- Potential for the receipt of the Scholarship to assist the student in their studies,
- Financial disadvantage and other educational barriers may be taken into consideration. Students wishing to evidence this criteria can fill in the UAC Equity.
