Overview

African citizens between the age of 18-25 are encouraged to contribute to important discussions on leadership by submitting an essay for this year’s Leadership Essay Contest organized by the Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UONGOZI Institute). The essay should respond to the following question: 

“If you were an African leader, how would you promote African intra-trade to unlock agricultural potential in the Continent?”

Essay conditions:

  • should not be more than 2 A4 pages
  • single-spaced, Arial font size 11
  • sent as an MS Word document
  • The essays will be judged based on originality, creativity, use of language and appropriateness to the contest theme.

Eligibility for Leadership Essay Competition, 2020:

  • Applicants of Leadership Essay Competition, 2020 must be African citizens.
  • Candidates applying should be between 18-25 years of age
  • Applicants of Leadership Essay Competition, 2020 should have a valid ID and travel documents in case one gets selected
