Eligibility Criteria for the George and Cathy Raithby Award for Indigenous Students:
Applicants must:
- Be Indigenous students who are citizens or members of a First Nations community (Status or Non-Status), Métis, and/or Inuit.
- Be enrolled at University of Waterloo.
- Be undergraduate students in any year and faculty, or graduate students in a Master’s or Doctoral program.
- Complete the Indigenous Verification section in Quest.
- Have their Indigenous identity verified by the Office of Indigenous Relations.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative academic average of 70%.
- Demonstrate connection and/or contributions to Indigenous communities through extracurricular or volunteer activities.
- Preference is given to students who aspire to give back to their communities in the future.
Value of George and Cathy Raithby Award for Indigenous Students:
The award provides CAD $1,500 annually.
Application Process:
- Complete the Indigenous Verification process in Quest.
- Submit the applicable undergraduate or graduate student award application through The Centre’s website.
- Applications are reviewed by Student Awards and Financial Aid (SAFA) and Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA).
