Eligibility Criteria for Fulbright Foreign Student Program for Tunisians 2026:

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen of Tunisia or a permanent resident eligible to hold a Tunisian passport.
• Not be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Reside in Tunisia throughout the application, selection, nomination, and placement process.
• Hold a U.S.-equivalent bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by the program start date.
• Have a strong academic record and leadership potential.
• Be proficient in English or able to attend a Long-Term English (LTE) program prior to starting their U.S. program.
• Have little or no prior experience studying or living in the United States.
• Not have lived in the U.S. for five or more consecutive years in the six-year period before applying.
• Employees or consultants of Amideast, U.S. missions, or the U.S. Department of State, and their immediate families, are ineligible.
• Comply with the two-year home residency requirement upon completion of the program.
