Overview

Food Security Council grants scholarships to top candidates from developing countries. The successful candidates can research the selected topics offered by the university. The candidates can enroll in one of the national or international research institutes for the research.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must demonstrate outstanding study performance in agricultural, nutritional, natural, social, economic, or political sciences, or related disciplines with specifications on food security-related issues with a minimum MSc grade of 2.5.
  • The applicant must be a passport holder of a developing country according to the OECD DAC list.
  • The applicant must hold a PhD degree in agriculture, nutritional, natural, social, economic, or political sciences, or related disciplines with specifications on food security-related issues.
  • The applicant must intend to return to his/her home country or country of residence and institute.
  • The applicant must demonstrate excellent proficiency in oral and written English.
  • The applicant must have excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit.
  • The applicant must be available for the entire period of the research stay of 3 months

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must apply for the scholarship online.

    • Supportive statement.
    • Post-Doc Research Proposal.
    • Two recommendation letters.
    • Scanned copy of the transcripts of all education till the most recent degree.
    • Scanned copy of the English proficiency certificate.

    • Signed recommendation letter.
    • Signed cover letter.
    • Most recent CV.
  • Successful applicants should :
    • Present their research work at the university's seminars, lecture series and/or workshops.
    • Engage in teaching and training activities at the graduate and/or postgraduate level.
    • Establish an active, long-lasting collaboration with the supported researchers and their home institutes as well as FSC through an interactive alumni network.

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are awarded the following benefits:

  • Monthly grant of EUR 500.
  • Travel costs to and from the university.
  • A refund of EUR 100 for health and liability insurance.
