The Everett Helm Visiting Fellowships at Indiana University Bloomington 2024

Everett Helm Visiting Fellowships is offered by Indiana University Bloomington to support research applicants. The Everett Helm Visiting Fellowship initiative aids scholars living beyond the Bloomington region in conducting research within the Lilly Library's collections.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be residing outside the Bloomington area.
• Project proposals from applicants need to show that the resources at the Lilly Library are crucial for the research topics they're proposing.
• Applicants are required to reside in Bloomington during the period of the fellowship.

Application Process:

• Although there is no separate application form, the candidates must submit a research proposal including the following details and documents:
  • The proposal should emphasize the relationship of the Lilly Library’s collections to the project.
  • It should include the length and preferred dates of any visits to the Lilly Library.
  • A financial plan tailored for this study, covering transportation fees, accommodation, and research-related costs, along with any additional funding for this academic journey.
  • A résumé.
  • For graduate students or other researchers whose résumés do not include a list of publications in their fields of research, two confidential letters of recommendation.

Value of the Fellowship:

• Selected candidates are awarded a sum of up to USD 2,500.
• Travel, living, and research expenses are covered in the award.
