Judy Kennedy Research Scholarship in Mental Health 2025

Eligibility for the Judy Kennedy Research Scholarship in Mental Health:

• Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD at the University of Newcastle, where your research aims to improve the care and outcomes for people with mental illness and their families.
• Applicants must be enrolled either full-time or part-time.
• Applicants must demonstrate high academic achievement and/or accomplishments to date.
• Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a full-fee-paying international student.

Application Process:

Interested candidates should write an email to the university (Graduate-Research@newcastle.edu.au) indicating their interest and include:

• A Curriculum Vitae
• A written statement demonstrating your research progress, plans, and aspirations. The written statement is to be no more than 1 A4 page, excluding documentary evidence.
• A written statement outlining how your research aims to improve the care and outcomes for people with mental illness and their families. This should include the potential impact, any engagement with service providers, and input from people with personal experience of mental illness, including carers.
• A supporting letter from your supervisor.
