The purpose of the scholarship is to enable female Doctor of Medicine students in financial need who are undertaking studies in rural areas to pursue a career in medicine in a rural area.
Eligibility for the Dr Helen Row-Zonta Rural Health Scholarship in Medicine:
- Students must be female
- Students are enrolled in Year 4 student
- Students are classified as a domestic student
- Students are undertaking placements at a health site in a Rural or Regional Area for a second consecutive year
- Students are enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine
- Students must be able to provide documentary evidence of financial hardship
Selection Criteria:
- Financial need.
- Strength of interest in pursuing a career in medicine in a Rural Area as demonstrated by a personal statement in the application.
Application Process:
Students need to submit an application form along with a personal statement to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.
Value of the Scholarship:
The students will receive at least AUD 4,500
