The purpose of the scholarship is to enable female Doctor of Medicine students in financial need who are undertaking studies in rural areas to pursue a career in medicine in a rural area.

Eligibility for the Dr Helen Row-Zonta Rural Health Scholarship in Medicine:

Applicants must:

Be a domestic student.
Be a female student.
Be a fourth-year student.
Be enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at The University of Queensland.
Be undertaking placements at a health site in a rural or regional area for a second consecutive year.
Submit an application to the Dean before the deadline.
Provide documentary evidence of financial hardship.

Selection Criteria for the Dr Helen Row-Zonta Rural Health Scholarship in Medicine:

Financial need.
Strength of interest in pursuing a career in medicine in a Rural Area as demonstrated by a personal statement in the application.
