Annie Spears Scholarship

The Annie Spears Scholarship supports students who are enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine program at the Memorial Regional Campus located at the University of Prince Edward Island.

Eligibility criteria for the Annie Spears Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine program at the Memorial Regional Campus at UPEI.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an interest in health care leadership.
  • Applicants must plan to practise medicine in Prince Edward Island after completing their degree.
  • Preference is given to students who demonstrate leadership qualities through extracurricular activities, such as student clubs, university governance, community organizations, or health care-related initiatives.
  • The scholarship is renewable for each subsequent year after successful completion of the first year, for a maximum of four years total.
  • If the recipient leaves the Doctor of Medicine program or completes the fourth year, a new entrance student becomes eligible.

Application process for the Annie Spears Scholarship:

  • Eligible students are considered through a recommendation by the Faculty of Medicine.
