The FIU Office of International Student and Scholar Services is announcing the Dr. Alejandra Parra International Student Scholarship for current international undergraduate and graduate students at Florida International University.

Eligibility for the Dr. Alejandra Parra International Student Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be current FIU international undergraduate or graduate students in a degree-seeking program.
  • Candidates must have attended FIU for at least two consecutive semesters at the time of application.
  • Applicants must have at least two semesters left to complete their program when the scholarship is awarded (Students graduating in Fall 2023 would not be eligible).
  • Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Candidates must be non-immigrant F-1 student visa holders in good immigration standing.
  • Applicants must be a non-immigrant F-1 student visa holder in good immigration standing

Documents required:

  • A copy of the I-20.
  • Two letters of recommendation- one from an FIU faculty member, and one from an FIU employee (mentor, advisor, employer).
  • A 500-600 word essay on What it means to be an international student at Florida International University.

The successful candidates are awarded a sum that is disclosed at the discretion of the university.
