The Doug Parke Memorial Scholarship is offered by the AUT Business School with support from a generous donation from a family estate. The scholarship supports students entering their second or third year of the Bachelor of Business with an Accounting major, particularly those experiencing financial difficulties that may affect their ability to continue their studies. 

Eligibility Criteria for the Doug Parke Memorial Scholarship at Auckland University of Technology 2027:

  • Applicant must be a New Zealand or Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Applicant must be enrolled full-time in the second or third year of the Bachelor of Business.
  • Applicant must be undertaking an Accounting major.
  • Applicant must have successfully completed their first year of study with a high level of academic achievement. 

Application Process for the Doug Parke Memorial Scholarship at Auckland University of Technology 2027:

  • Applicant must apply through the AUT online scholarship portal.
  • Applicant must upload a written statement outlining their need for financial assistance to fund their second or third year of Bachelor of Business study.
  • Applicant must provide written evidence demonstrating major financial difficulties that may affect their ability to commence their second or third year of study. 

Selection Criteria:

  • Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.
  • Recipients will be selected under the supervision of the AUT Foundation, which will convene a scholarship selection panel.
  • The selection panel will comprise:
    • A representative from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.
    • A Student Services representative.
    • An AUT Foundation Trustee.
  • The decision of the scholarship selection panel is final.
  • The scholarship will not be awarded if the panel determines that there is no applicant of sufficient merit.
  • The award is conditional upon the recipient gaining entry to and enrolling full-time in the second or third year of the Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting.
  • The recipient may be required to participate in service activities organised by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.
  • The scholarship cannot be held together with another tuition fee scholarship. Additional non-tuition-fee-based scholarships may be held with approval from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.
  • The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, in conjunction with the AUT Foundation, may terminate or suspend the scholarship if it receives an unsatisfactory report regarding the recipient's academic progress.

Value of the Scholarship:

  • One scholarship is awarded annually on a contestable basis.
  • The scholarship covers full tuition fees and compulsory student services fees for one year of full-time study in the Bachelor of Business.
  • The scholarship covers up to 120 points of study.

  • The scholarship has a tenure of up to one year of full-time study in the Bachelor of Business.
