CSC-VUB Scholarship Programme 2026

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) jointly offer doctoral and postdoctoral scholarships to Chinese researchers. These scholarships aim to facilitate academic collaboration between VUB and top Chinese universities in various disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria for CSC-VUB Scholarship Programme 2026:

Applicants must satisfy the following to be eligible:

• Chinese nationality and meet the CSC eligibility requirements. 
• For a Full PhD (3–4 years):
  • Be a last-year Master’s student at a Chinese university (for a 4-year scholarship), OR
  • Be a last-year Master’s student from a university outside China (for a 4-year scholarship), OR
  • Already hold a Master’s degree (for a 4-year scholarship), OR
  • Be a first-year PhD student currently enrolled at a university outside China (for a 3-year scholarship).
• For a Jointly Supervised PhD (6–24 months):
  • Must have Chinese nationality and meet CSC requirements, AND
    Be a current PhD student enrolled at a Chinese university.

Value of CSC-VUB Scholarship Programme 2026:

• Monthly allowance for the scholarship duration (provided by CSC).
• International return flight funded by CSC.
• Tuition fee waiver at VUB.
• Health insurance (for full and jointly-supervised PhD students).
