Excellent students have long been drawn to and awarded degrees in commerce. The Commerce Achievement Scholarship offers a $30,000 living allowance spread over three years and a $2500 travel grant to high-achieving students starting a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), the Commerce/Juris Doctor Graduate Degree Package, or the Commerce/Engineering Graduate Degree Package. You must get an ATAR of at least 98.00 (excluding Chancellor's Scholars) to be eligible for the award.
Eligibility for Commerce Achievement Scholarship at the University of Melbourne:
- The candidate must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a citizen of New Zealand who has completed the International Baccalaureate or Year 12 in Australia;
- The applicant must have applied via VTAC for the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) at the University of Melbourne, with a start date of the year after the completion of the International Baccalaureate or Year 12; alternatively, the candidate must have applied via VTAC for the Commerce Graduate Degree Package at the University of Melbourne, with a start date of the year after the completion of Australian Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate;
- The candidate must not have previously pursued any tertiary studies (apart from extension studies completed as part of a Year 12 program)
- The applicant must receive a minimum of ATAR of 98.00.
Selection criteria:
The International Baccalaureate or Australian Year 12 results from your most recent year of study will be taken into consideration when making the selection.
Value of the scholarship:
The scholarship provides $10,000 per annum over 3 years, paid in two $5,000 installments in April and September after census dates each year.
