    The University of Strathclyde is a member of a consortium of seventeen Higher Education institutions in Scotland that is supported by funding for PhD studentships from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) through the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH).  The living expenses and tuition for these studentships are covered at rates determined by UK Research & Innovation (UKRI).

    Eligibility for Arts and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership (AHRC):

    • Both domestic and foreign students are welcome to apply for UKRI funding, which will pay for both their home tuition and the entire stipend.

    In order to qualify as a Home student, candidates need to fulfill the essential requirements:

    • Possess a UK nationality (fulfilling residence requirements), settled status (fulfilling residency requirements), pre-settled status (fulfilling residency requirements), or indefinite leave to enter or remain.

    A student will be classified as an international student if they do not fit the aforementioned requirements.
    The University of Strathclyde will pay the international component of the tuition cost for successful candidates, as the UKRI grant is unable to cover this amount.
    The maximum number of international students that may be recruited each year under each organization's training grant, according to UKRI regulations, is 30%.
