Background:
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is Australia's national agency responsible for maritime safety, protection of the marine environment, and maritime aviation search and rescue. AMSA are motivated by their vision of Safe and clean seas, saving lives. As Australia's national regulatory body, AMSA promote the safety and protection of the marine environment and combat ship-sourced pollution. AMSA provide the infrastructure for safety of navigation in Australian waters, and maintain a national search and rescue service for the maritime and aviation sectors.
Eligibility:
Applicant must be a female student who is entering Year 3 of the Bachelor of Engineering (Specialisation) with Honours in Semester 1, 2023.
Selection criteria:
- Selection will be based on academic merit, and the applicant's aspiration to work in the industry and having career goals, which align with AMSA's vision and mission.
- Preference will be for female students undertaking the Naval Architecture stream.
- Mentoring by an AMSA employee may be available for the successful applicant.
Retaining the scholarship:
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
