From 2013 until her sudden death in 2019, Allison was the National Academic Director of MATES. She was a prolific researcher who supported initiatives aimed at reducing the high suicide incidence among blue-collar workers, who are primarily males. This fellowship is a vital source of funding for bright and committed Ph.D. students to carry out the kind of work that Allison and the MATES team find extremely valuable.
