Overview

The Allan and Nesta Ferguson scholarship is awarded based on academic merit. Students offered an Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship must take it up in the academic year 2024/25 and it cannot be deferred to a later year.

Eligibility for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarships : 

  • Students need to be residents in low-income or lower-middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank) and preferably from low-income households.
  • Students must hold an undergraduate degree at the first-class level.
  • New scholarship applicants must have applied to SOAS but are not required to have received an offer of admission by the scholarship deadline. An offer will need to have been received by the time the relevant panel meets to discuss scholarship applications.
  • Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible.

Application Process:

Students must submit an application form to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.

Value of the scholarship:

Two awards will be made by Allan and Nesta Ferguson, each having a total value of GBP 32,500 which will be put towards tuition fees.
