Eligibility for Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship- Indigenous:
- Be a citizen of Canada
- Open to programs based on courses or theses
- This scholarship is available to graduate or doctoral students. Additionally qualified are students enrolled in graduate certificate programs that lead to master's degree programs.
- Students must reside in Alberta while enrolled at the college, whether they are learning remotely, online, or in person.
- In order to continue, current students must enroll full-time in the Winter 2024 or Fall 2023 sessions. Students who are newly admitted in January 2024 must enroll full-time in classes in Winter 2024. Note: If a student is enrolled in at least 40% of a full course load and is registered with Student Accessibility Services or has a verified need for accommodation, they may apply.
- It is required of current students to have completed the last 15 units of course weight in the program with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.3 or above. The entrance GPA (AGPA) is a weighted measure in cases where the current program has fewer than 15 graded credits. The Admission GPA (AGPA) will be applied to newly admitted students in Fall 2023 or Winter 2024 terms for which graded coursework is not yet available in the present program.
- Research and/or scholarly contributions, such as works that have been published, presentations, posters, exhibitions, involvement in the community, or performances
- Prior track record of academic success demonstrated by honors, scholarships, and trophies, among other things
- During the scholarship's duration, the recipient must be enrolled in years 1-4 of the master's program or years 1-6 of the PhD program. The number of months finished in the Master's program will transfer to the Doctoral program for students transferring from a Master's to a Doctoral program.
- Students with qualifying statuses and those on academic probation are ineligible.
