Overview

The scholarship is available to qualified South Africans who are registered for the following Degrees/Diplomas/ B.Tech or NATED / NCV Programmes which are related to the Wholesale and Retail Sector Scarce Skills priorities. The public entity aims to facilitate the skills development needs of the Wholesale and Retail (W&R) sector through the implementation of learning programs, disbursement of grants, and monitoring of education and training as outlined in the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicants must be South African citizens.
  • The applicants must be admitted to the institutions in programs mentioned by the bursary scheme.
  • Preference is given to applicants whose parental income ranges between R350 000 – R600 000.
  • The following Institutions are eligible to apply for bursary funding:
    • Public HETIs and TVET colleges, Private HETIs and TVET colleges
    • Bursary service providers/administrators
    • Retail chairs, Employers, and Trade Unions.

  • Interested candidates must apply on the W&RSETA website.
  • Proof of Institutional registrations and program approval with the relevant quality assurance body to be uploaded with the application.
