Victoria University of Wellington - Elaine Geering Scholarship In English Literature 2024

Lloyd Geering founded this scholarship in honor of his late wife Elaine Geering. Until she died in 2001, Elaine was pursuing a PhD in English literature at Victoria University of Wellington. She had a special interest in Old English and Medieval Literature. The goal is to support the Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington students pursuing research or courses in the English department, as well as those who completed their undergraduate studies at Victoria University of Wellington and are currently enrolled in postgraduate English study at an authorized international institution.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria for Victoria University of Wellington - Elaine Geering Scholarship In English Literature:

• Any Honours, Masters, or Ph.D. students pursuing coursework in the English department at the Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington, as well as those who have completed their undergraduate studies there and are presently enrolled in postgraduate English study at an authorized international institution, are eligible for the scholarship.
• Only citizens and permanent residents of New Zealand are eligible for the scholarship.
• The recipient will be chosen based on their academic merit and must be a student enrolled in the English department of Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington's Honours, Masters, or PhD programs, or in an approved overseas institution (this is only applicable to students who have completed their undergraduate degree at the Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington).
