Aker Cambridge Scholarship at the University of Cambridge
The Aker Cambridge Scholarship supports Master’s and PhD applicants who are either from Norway or have a significant connection to the country. It can be used at any Cambridge College and for any academic discipline. The award is offered in collaboration with the Anne Grete Eidsvig and Kjell Inge Røkke Charitable Foundation for Education in Norway.
Eligibility Criteria of Aker Cambridge Scholarship:
Applicants must be Norwegian citizens or have a strong link to Norway (have lived there for several years and speak Norwegian).
Selection Criteria: Candidates are selected by the Aker Foundation directly, not by the Cambridge Trust or the university.
Application Process:
- The applicants must submit their Aker Scholarship application directly through the Aker Foundation’s website in the year before starting their studies, including documents like a CV, transcripts, recommendation letters, and a personal statement/project description.
- The applicants must also apply for admission to the University of Cambridge for their chosen course and ensure they meet the specific funding deadline for that program.
Award: The award covers full university tuition fees at the international rate and also provides annual maintenance sufficient for a single student. It includes the cost of the student visa as well as the Student Immigration Health Surcharge. Additionally, it offers an economy flight to the UK at the start of the program and an economy return flight to the student’s home country after completion, using the lowest-cost route available.
