Eligibility Criteria for Trudeau Scholarships at University of St Andrews:

Applicants must:

  • Be in the first or second year of a doctoral (PhD) programme at the time of application.
  • Be enrolled at a university in a PhD programme.
  • Belong to one of the following:
    • Canadian citizens studying in a Canadian university,
    • Canadian citizens studying abroad,
    • International students studying in a Canadian university.
  • Conduct doctoral research in the social sciences or humanities.
  • Ensure the research is connected to one or more of the Foundation’s four themes:
    • Human rights and dignity,
    • Responsible citizenship,
    • Canada and the world,
    • People and their natural environment.
  • Demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, community engagement, and commitment to public impact as part of the Foundation’s community values.

Value of Trudeau Scholarships at University of St Andrews:

  • Up to CAD 50,000 per year for up to three years toward tuition and living expenses.
  • Up to CAD 20,000 per year for research support, travel, networking, and Foundation activities.
