University of Melbourne Thérèse and Ronald Ridley Scholarship 2024

About the Scholarship:

The Thérèse and Ronald Ridley Scholarship supports a current Ph.D. student in the Classics and Archaeology department to travel to the British School at Rome to conduct research that will assist in Ph.D. completion.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Students need to be a current PhD student in the Classics and Archaeology department at the University of Melbourne.
• Students should not be in the final writing-up stage of their PhD.
• Students must be able to conduct their research at the British School of Rome.

Selection Criteria:

• The relevance of the overseas placement to their intended research
• The quality and feasibility of the submitted research plan
• Academic merit
• The skills, experience, and aptitude required to carry out the proposed project as evidenced by the application.

Application Process:

Students need to submit an application form to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship:

Up to AUD 10,000 towards tuition fees.
