The Kalyan Scholarship in Engineering at Imperial College London supports outstanding Home/UK undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Funded through generous philanthropy, it helps cover tuition and/or maintenance costs, enabling scholars to pursue their studies without financial barriers.
Eligibility Criteria of The Kalyan Scholarship in Engineering
- The applicant must have an offer of admission from the College to study an undergraduate MEng course in the Faculty of Engineering and possess a Home fee status.
- The applicant must have been assessed for financial support through Student Finance England (SFE) or an equivalent funding authority, with a verified household income of less than GBP 70,000 per annum.
Selection Criteria: The applicant’s academic merit will be assessed by the Department within the Faculty of Engineering based on predicted A-Level results and the UCAS application form. Applicants will be ranked by their respective Departments, and the final selection from the shortlist will be made by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
Application Process:
- The applicant must submit a student finance application and be ‘means-tested’ by Student Finance England (SFE) or an equivalent funding authority, confirming a household income of less than GBP 70,000 per annum by 11:59 pm (UK local time), Friday 29th May 2026. Applicants must also consent to share their household income information with the College to verify eligibility.
- The applicant must submit a UCAS application for a course of study within the Faculty of Engineering and hold an offer of admission by 11:59 pm (UK local time), Friday, 29th May 2026.
Award: Full tuition fees and an annual stipend of GBP 16,530.
Note:
- The applicant, if selected, will be expected to meet informally with the donors on occasions and submit a short annual progress statement to be shared with the donors.
- The award is for students starting in the 2026–27 academic year and cannot be deferred.
