Overview

With great pleasure, the university announces the return of its Instrumental Scholarships for September 2025, to complement the BA (Hons) Music program.  Students who are awarded an Instrumental Scholarship will be paid £700 in cash.  All full-time, qualifying, self-funded students will be taken into account. 

Eligibility for The Instrumental Scholarships at Northumbria University:

  • Applicants must be UK students enrolled in a course beginning in September 2025.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in any of the undergraduate or foundation courses offered at the university.
  • Applicants must register with Student Finance England (SFE), Student Finance Wales (SFW), or Student Finance Northern Ireland (SFNI).
  • Applicants must choose Northumbria as their firm choice by 30 June 2025.
  • Applicants must have a passion for music.
  • Applicants must be skilled in playing an instrument at grade 7 or above.

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are awarded a cash payment worth GBP 700.
