Introduction:

The Elizabeth Shorten Scholarship was established through a generous legacy gift from Elizabeth Shorten to support MD students at University College Cork (UCC) conducting clinically related research in cardiology or cardiothoracic surgery at Cork University Hospital.

Eligibility criteria for the Elizabeth Shorten Scholarship at University College Cork:

The applicants must be a medical doctor at the specialist registrar or registrar level in the specialty of cardiology.
The applicants must intend to enroll as an MD student in the UCC School of Medicine.
The applicants must undertake clinically related research in the Department of Cardiology or Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cork University Hospital.

Application Process:

The applicants have to submit the application via Dsom@ucc.ie.

Value of the Scholarship:

EUR 15,000 is awarded to support a full-time student.
