- Be a current student at UCC.
- Hold a good upper second-class or first-class degree in law or a related discipline.
- Have availability of a suitable supervisor for their research project.
- Demonstrate aptitude for original research through submission of a Research Proposal, including:
- Project description (aim and research questions – 1000 words)
- Methodology (framework and analytical methods – 500 words)
- Relationship to existing literature and contribution to knowledge – 500 words
- Research plan with schedule – 500 words
- Sample bibliography
- Statement of suitability of UCC Law School to host the research (supervision/resources – 500 words)
- Submit two academic references with the application documentation.
- Meet the minimum academic standard for research degrees.
