Eligibility Criteria for The College of Business and Law Scholarship for LLM by Research at University College Cork 2025:

Applicants must:

• Be a current student at UCC.
• Hold a good upper second-class or first-class degree in law or a related discipline.
• Have availability of a suitable supervisor for their research project.
• Demonstrate aptitude for original research through submission of a Research Proposal, including:
  • Project description (aim and research questions – 1000 words)
  • Methodology (framework and analytical methods – 500 words)
  • Relationship to existing literature and contribution to knowledge – 500 words
  • Research plan with schedule – 500 words
  • Sample bibliography
  • Statement of suitability of UCC Law School to host the research (supervision/resources – 500 words)
• Submit two academic references with the application documentation.
• Meet the minimum academic standard for research degrees.

Value of The College of Business and Law Scholarship for LLM by Research at University College Cork 2025:

• €5,770, covering tuition fees for one year.
• Non-renewable, tenable for one year.

Application Process:

• Submit Research Proposal and supporting documents (academic references, proof of degree, etc.).
• Evaluated by the Graduate Studies Committee, School of Law.
• Requires availability of supervisor(s) for the research project.
• Progress monitored continuously; oral presentation required after 6 months.
