Overview

Eligibility for the Sussex Bursary:

  • Applicants should have started their undergraduate course on or after September 2026.
  • Students must be funded as a Home student and have an assessed household income of less than £35,000.
  • Students must not receive a non-means-tested grant element in their funding (such as Welsh-funded students or Year 2 / 3 Social Work students)
  • Students studying in the current academic year with a household family income of less than £35,000 are eligible to receive the Sussex Bursary. 

Application Process:

The bursary application is automatic, as the University receives the information directly from Student Finance.

Benefits:

  • £1,000 in your first year of study (either Year 1 or Foundation Year).
  • £500 in subsequent years.
