Graduate studies support scholarship for CIÉRA student members 

The Graduate Studies Support Scholarship for CIÉRA student members is supported by the Interuniversity Centre for Indigenous Studies and Research (CIÉRA) and provides financial support for activities or participation in events related to their research project.

Eligibility criteria for the Graduate Studies Support Scholarship for CIÉRA student members:

  • Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or international students holding a valid study permit.
  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a master's or doctoral program at Université Laval.
  • Applicants must be a member of CIÉRA.
  • Applicants must conduct research related to one or more of CIÉRA's research areas.
  • Applicants must be authorized or have been authorized, and take place between September 1, 2026 and September 1, 2027.
  • Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements to be considered.

Application process for the Graduate studies support scholarship for CIÉRA student members:

  • Applicants must prepare the required application form, completed and signed by both the applicant and research director.
  • Applicants must prepare a cover letter of no more than three pages describing the activity to be funded, such as field data collection, community knowledge sharing, or conference presentation; the planned timeline and budget justification; the research project and its current progress; and Ethical and knowledge-mobilization approaches with Indigenous stakeholders, organizations, or nations.
  • Applicants must submit transcripts corresponding to all completed university terms.
  • Applicants must submit their CV.
  • Applicants must combine all these documents into one PDF in the given order.
  • The complete application must be sent by email to CIÉRA – Université Laval (ciera@ciera.ulaval.ca) no later than October 1, 2026.
