    The University of Sussex is offering STFC Ph.D. Studentship: Novel Detectors for Astronomy and Nuclear Science, 2017 who wish to work within a research group working on new instrumentation for astronomy, space science, and nuclear physics. 

    Eligibility criteria:

    • Applicants of STFC Ph.D. Studentship: Novel Detectors for Astronomy and Nuclear Science, 2017 who belong to one of the following criteria will be eligible for the full award:
      • Settled status in the UK, (no restrictions on how long they can stay) 
      • Been ‘ordinarily resident’ in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of the studentship. (normally residing in the UK)
      • Not be residing in the UK wholly or mainly for the purpose of full-time education. (not for UK or EU nationals)
    • Candidates applying for STFC Ph.D. Studentship: Novel Detectors for Astronomy and Nuclear Science, 2017 who are from EU countries except the UK are eligible for fees only award.
    • Applicants must have obtained minimum qualifications and experience to commence a research degree.
